Yellow Icy Flower 2013: From the street into the abstract world

Planting Fields Arboretum, Oyster Bay NY

Hi there. I am going to change the course for a bit – from street photography to abstract photographs. I’ll come back with street photography shortly. Or, if you like this course, we can stick with it for a longer time.

My work consists of street photography and abstracts. You have seen the abstracts that happen in the street: the thing in front of you, the architecture, the geometry, the big picture.

I had also worked at the macro level for a few years, and I’d like to showcase my macro abstract #photographs. I was interested in finding abstract images, painting-like images. I did.

It helped me with developing or improving a certain set of skills: spotting forms and geometry, seeing the beauty within an unexpected setting; seeing the light and the color. I started to see the image (I even looked on walls with a magnifier glass!); I mixed paints to learn the difference between colors, the harmony, and their relationship. I used different lenses to see different results in making the photograph. Finally, the processing of the image in Photoshop or Lightroom changes sometimes until it’s final.

I worked with abstracts for a couple of years, and I would love that work to come out of the dust, into the light. I wouldn’t want it to be lost.

Some of you might not be interested in the macro abstract world. I’d say, hang in there for awhile, please. I appreciate it. Or, if you like to talk about something of common interest, let me know. Aww, I’m trying to keep you involved in my work. 🙂

Thanks for your support and patience. It’s been important to me.

I believe it is important keep your voice. When I lose it, I work hard to find my way back to the center, which in turn, opens doors onto new paths. I follow my passion.

Photography is a beautiful road I’ve been walking on with great humility. As a photographer, I like to use my camera to unravel the beauty and mystery of details. As a storyteller, I like to touch your hearts. Painting and mixed media unleashed new possibilities of expression.

Welcome to my blog. You may share your comments. I'm sure you'll be thoughtful and polite with us.

A warm thank you.
